TM Goodbye Merri - Max

TM Goodbye Merri "Max" is a 2016 bay mare by The Goodbye Lane, owned by Kelly Bladow and trained by Payton Bladow. She has a proven record of speed, consistency, and heart. She competed as a 5-year-old futurity horse, clocking her fastest time of 17.2 on a standard pattern, and boasts lifetime earnings exceeding $60,000. She is enrolled in nearly every major incentive program, and paid in full to Pink and Ruby buckle. Max has won the C-N Reserve 1D Derby Champion, Fiesta Futurity 1D Derby Champion,  WCBRA Futurity Finals Champion, and qualified for the Poly Royal short go during Payton's senior year of college. In March 2025, Max won the Chowchilla Stampede Open and notably filled Payton Bladow’s WPRA permit in one single run. Stocky, powerful, and strikingly beautiful, Max pairs elite athleticism with an exceptional temperament—sweet, kind, and adaptable, she gets along with other horses yet is perfectly content on her own, with truly not a mean bone in her body.

Famous Lil Maverick- Maverick

Famous Lil Maverick “Maverick” is a 2015 proven, all-around barrel horse with both the stats and the heart to match. Purchased by Payton in 2018 as a started prospect from Mora Performance Horses, this KS Cash N Fame gelding quickly rose to the top as a 1D futurity and open horse, earning the title of Chasing Dreams Finding Cures Futurity Champion in 2020. Despite a shortened futurity year due to COVID, Maverick still accumulated over $30,000 in LTE, with additional derby placings and consistent mid-17s on standards, plus plenty of local 1D finishes. Standing 15 hands and stocky, he’s powerful yet ratey, and has safely taught many students how to ride a hot barrel horse. Known as the ultimate confidence-builder and best all-around horse, Maverick is willing to do anything you ask of him. He is now proudly and lovingly owned by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Rodeo student Ivy Popejoy.

Famous Roo Chacho - Roo

Famous Roo Chacho "Roo" is Payton’s favorite futurity horse to date, owned by Sofia and Christina Baroldi. A compact but mighty 14-hands, Roo Chacho proves that size has nothing to do with speed. He is 2018 bay gelding by KS Cash N Fame out of a cowbred mare. Deceivingly fast and consistently competitive, he emerged as a solid 1D horse during his 2023 futurity year, clocking low 17.2s and 17.3s on a standard pattern and earning an impressive $20,000 in just six short months. His naturally standoff-ish personality suits Payton just fine—adding to the edge that makes him such a special horse. His accomplishments include placing in the 1D average at the NHBA Supershow in Las Vegas, winning a 1D futurity saddle at the Outlaw Finals, capturing the WCBRA year-end futurity title, and collecting multiple buckles along the way. Still going strong, Roo Chacho continues to rack up wins for Sofia through his derby years.

Eazin Thru Firewater - Katniss

Eazin Thru Firewater "Katniss" is a 2017 mare by Firewater Dragon whose fiery personality matched her explosive speed from day one. Tough, opinionated, and challenging to train, she made it clear early on that she hated spurs and had no problem trying to buck Payton off during her training days, forcing Payton to dig deep before finally unlocking her potential. Purchased at the end of her futurity year in October 2022 by Quinn and Janelle Wood, Katniss has surprised everyone by evolving into a true kids horse—one who clearly adores Quinn and continues to win for her. She most recently clocked a clean 17.30 on a standard pattern, placing second in the Open 1D and winning the Youth. Her résumé includes the 2024 Nolan Watters Youth Championship, along with numerous open victories with Quinn as the jockey.

KH Little Runaway - Athena

KH Little Runaway "Athena" is a 2018 mare by TKW Runaway Fame who combined beauty and talent. She competed as a 4-year-old futurity horse, earning over $4,000 in her futurity year and capturing major accolades including the 2D Fiesta Futurity Saddle and the title of 2D California Cup Futurity Champion. Known just as much for her striking presence as her speed, Athena boasts a long, thick mane that could take hours to braid and always turned heads in the arena. She clocked times as fast as 17.7 on a standard pattern before returning to her owner, where she proudly served as her owner’s very first barrel horse.

Quick Like Nic- Cricket

Quick Like Nic "Cricket" is a 2001 sorrel mare with a proven record in barrel racing and pole bending. She was an automatic and consistent 1D/2D barrel horse, as well as made multiple 20-second pole bending runs. Cricket won the CHSRA D8 Barrel Racing Championship four times and qualified for National High School Rodeo Association National Finals in 2017. She was purchased and continued winning with youth rider Johnny Rose Bray, earning numerous jackpot wins and 1D placings. She was also used as a breakaway roping and sorting horse, making her a versatile, experienced, and dependable mare. Cricket is now living out her retired life in Temecula, CA, which she more than earned.

Docs Lena Rey - HB

Docs Lena Rey "HB," once infamously known as “Hell Bitch,” is a 2003 bay mare and a granddaughter of the legendary Shining Spark, whose talent and toughness defined her competitive career. Purchased by Payton's family in 2016 for high school rodeo, she carried her rider from high school through college, placing in numerous college rodeos and qualifying for multiple short gos. HB and Payton not only won the California Junior Rodeo Association Barrel Racing Champion title in 2016 for year end, but also for the finals with the fastest time of the weekend and winning all three rounds. The highlight of college rodeos was the standout experience of competing at Poly Royal in Cal Poly’s Football Spanos Stadium, the largest intercollegiate rodeo in the nation. Along the way, HB won several high school rodeo barrel racing averages and the Nolan Waters Youth Championship. HB earned her nickname for being dirty fast and notoriously mean to other horses. Today, she’s undergone a full transformation—now affectionately known as “Honey Bunny.” HB has retired from competition and gives beginner lessons for the Heavenly Horses program, sharing her experience and heart with the next generation of riders.
